At San Diego Comic-Con, 126,000 people flood a city that shuts down for it, spending a reported $163 million and most of their day standing in line. GameSpot and CNET gave them the one thing nobody else was offering: a place to sit down. Base Station was a superhero-themed pop-up steps from the convention center where attendees could charge their phones, grab food and drinks, play unreleased games, catch live broadcasts and costume contests, and walk out loaded with freebies. Then we sent them back out to play. S.O.S.S., the Save Our Superpowers Society, was a mobile game that had the crowd hunting villains across Comic-Con with their phones, backed by a social platform that turned 126,000 strangers into one connected community. I led creative across all of it, from the name and the world to the venue, the game, and every invite, email blast, banner ad, and social post that pulled people in. Power Up. Play On.
